Bishkek · Kyrgyz Republic · 2026
A day in Bishkek dedicated to advancing endourology in Kyrgyzstan: bringing together local urologists and international experts for lectures on cutting-edge technologies, surgical videos narrated by the operating surgeons, an interactive round table and a lively debate on the questions that remain unanswered.
The summit
Central Asia has one of the highest stone burdens in the world, and its operating lists show it. BEATS brings that daily reality into one room: what the evidence actually supports, which technology has earned its place in theatre, and how experienced surgeons get through the step that goes wrong.
The programme is built around new technology and what it changes in practice: lasers and their physics, suction and intrarenal pressure, thinner ureteroscopes, enucleation of the prostate, and the minimally invasive treatments now competing with it. Operations are shown as edited recordings, with the surgeon in the room to narrate the steps and answer while the image is on screen.
Invited faculty from Cambridge, Istanbul and Tashkent sit on the same panels as surgeons working in Kyrgyzstan, and the discussion runs in English, Kyrgyz and Russian with simultaneous translation, so nobody has to argue in their second language.
Come with a case you could not finish. Leave with three people you can call about it.
What the name carries
Hosted under the Ala-Too range, open to the whole region.
Stones, prostate and the upper tract — the whole endoscopic list.
What changed since last year, and what it changes on Monday.
Lasers, suction sheaths, pressure monitoring — limits stated plainly.
One structured programme, not a series of unrelated talks.
Course directors
They set the scientific programme together and chair the masterclass.
Course director
Chief urologist, Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic · Bishkek (KG)
Course director
Consultant Urologist, FRCS
How the day works
Lasers and their physics, suction and intrarenal pressure, thinner ureteroscopes, drug-coated balloons: what the technology does, what it costs you, and where the evidence actually stands.
The spine of the programmeEdited operations rather than live theatre: nothing waits on the day, the difficult minutes are kept, and the surgeon is in the room to narrate and answer.
Five operations across the dayA round table on preserving continence and ejaculation after enucleation, and a head-to-head debate on what matters more — intrarenal pressure or temperature.
Morning and late morningFive or ten minutes is written into the timetable after each lecture and each operation, so questions are part of the programme rather than something squeezed into the coffee break.
Written into the timetableFor the best speaker and the most active delegate: registration and accommodation at CASPS27 in Cambridge, and an endourology book.
Awarded before the closeA small invited faculty from Cambridge, Istanbul and Tashkent, sitting on panels with surgeons from Kyrgyzstan, and in the same room all day.
English, Kyrgyz and RussianScientific programme
This is draft one, and it fills in as speakers confirm. Lecture titles are listed in English, as they appear in the scientific programme.
Awarded to the best speaker and to the most active delegate, before the final remarks.
Draft programme. Times, titles and speakers will change as the faculty confirms. Operations are shown as edited recordings, with the surgeon present to narrate and answer questions.
International faculty
Each of them lectures, presents an edited operation and sits on the round tables.
